‘It’s Not What You Don’t Know That Gets You into Trouble’

Stocks in the US fell sharply in Friday’s trading session. The Dow and S&P 500 fell nearly 2%, while the NASDAQ sank 2.5%. ASX 200 futures suggest you’ll see a 50-point fall on the local market today.

Investors are still trying to work out what the latest brain explosion from the Fed means. Let’s give it a few more days before we pass judgment.

Meanwhile, Special Counsel Robert Mueller handed his report to the Attorney General William Barr on Friday afternoon. Mueller was investigating claims that team Trump colluded with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election.

The ‘Russian Collusion’ hoax was concocted by Clinton’s team

While the details of the report are not yet public, we know that there will be no indictments of the Trump team. If you’ve been reading Rum Rebellion from the start, you’ll know that was always going to be the case.

The ‘Russian Collusion’ hoax was concocted by Hillary Clinton’s team and pursued by the Obama appointed Department of Justice and FBI. You only had to read the works of good investigative journalists and ignore the lies coming from the mainstream media to know that.

Clinton paid a company called Fusion GPS to come up with opposition research against Trump. This led to the fake ‘Steele Dossier’. It was spy thriller fiction. But the FBI, despite being unable to corroborate it, used it as the basis of its investigation into Trump. They used it to obtain warrants from the FISA court to spy on members of Trump’s team.

And crucially, various players leaked the whole thing to the media, to create a false narrative about Trump being a puppet of Putin and countless other things.

But now Robert Mueller, after two years of investigation, has indicated that there was really nothing there.

Attempts to frame Trump will now be exposed

For the anti-Trumpers, it’s a bitter pill to swallow. The cognitive dissonance is widespread. For the ‘true believers’ (those hacks in the establishment media who are hanging onto the collusion narrative) this old quote comes to mind:

It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.’

The establishment media will have a hard time dealing with this. They’re on a bombed-out stock. But instead of selling out and cutting their losses, they will ride it into the ground.

Now, the real revelations start. That is, the attempts to frame Trump via illegal means will now be exposed. Congressman Devin Nunes, who has seen much of the classified material relating to this case, says the information will shock the US public. There are rumours that an assassination attempt on the president was discussed. If that is the case, this story will explode.

As I’ve said before, this is the biggest political story in history. It may not seem like it now, but it will become apparent. When something important happens (despite the mainstream media not covering it) I’ll be sure to let you know.

For now though, since it’s appropriate, here are a few of your responses to my ‘Why the media is the enemy of the people’ essay from last week. I’ll publish more tomorrow…

Greg Canavan, you are so right about media establishment bias in the U.S.A. But also here in Australia with the ABC, Channels, 10 and 9, and the Fairfax newspapers. Keep up the good work of writing on subjects the Rum Rebellion.

I would like to register my support and encouragement for what you are writing in Rum Rebellion. I hope you can take it to another level.

I attach an excerpt of the reason for the decline of the Roman Empire:

  • A swollen bureaucracy and excessive taxation.
  • Absolute imperial power replaced the complex check-and-balance system of the republic.
  • Private initiative disappeared; more and more the all-powerful imperial government was expected to look after everyone and attend to everything.

  • Unprecedented fiat money printing and Gov DEBT by design of the centralist elite…
  • Near absolute control by nefarious “secret deep state”, with corrupt security agencies support, powerless and corrupt politicians.
  • Use of technology especially AI to achieve Deep State secret satanic agendas…

“Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).”

I agree with what you say about the biased media … except it is not just bias but outright lying. Quite a few years ago I watched the ABC morning program report on a child care issue. I had watched Parliament question time the day before (I know, a sad case of someone with nothing to do). The ABC not just misreported on it but outright distorted the issue with lies. I have never watched the ABC news or current affairs since. No news is better than false news.

Then we have the commercial news which is nothing but fluff and fuzz about the relative trivial, but is reported with breathy urgency (Greatly over dramatised, except of course for the poor souls who have been hurt)

That is why I like Rum Rebellion. It helps me to avoid following the great unwashed deeper into the ignorant and stupid zone.

Australia desperately needs thorough and honest journalism that, as you say, avoids bias and exposes the schemes of those who have undue control over our society. As things stand now it feels like the noose is already around our necks as more and more restraints on what we can say or do are foisted on us. At the moment it is not tight enough for us to give it our undivided attention but that could change very quickly with the next “crisis.”

As I’ve said before, it is no surprise that billionaires own the media. Controlling the flow of information allows you to control the flow of wealth as well. But when the media becomes a mouthpiece for entrenched interests and the elites in government, academia and business, we cease to live in a democracy.

I’ll publish more of your responses on this tomorrow…

Greg Canavan approaches the investment world with an ‘ignorance is bliss’ philosophy. In a world where all the information is just a click away at all times, Greg believes we ingest too much of it. As a result, we forget how to think for ourselves, and let other people’s thoughts cloud our own.

Or worse, we only seek out the voices who are confirming our biases and narrowminded views of the truth. Either situation is not ideal. With regards to investing, this makes us follow the masses rather than our own gut instincts.

At The Rum Rebellion, fake news and unethical political persuasion are not in the least bit tolerated. It denounces the heavy amount of government influence which the public accommodates.

Greg will help The Rum Rebellion readers block out all the nonsense and encourage personal responsibility…both in the financial and political world.
